Maloney scores in record time
Don Maloney scored three times, twice shorthanded, in a 2:30 span in the second period to set the Rangers' record for individual fastest three goals in a game in a 6-4 win over the Washington Capitals at Madison Square Garden. After the Capitals tied the score at 2 in the second period, Maloney began his run, peppering Capitals goalie Mike Palmateer. His first goal came at 16:41, the second at 18:37 and the third at 19:11, his 24th of the season.
