Mike Piazza hits milestone homer

Mike Piazza tied Carlton Fisk for the most career home runs by a catcher as he took Hideo Nomo deep for his 351st as a backstop in the sixth inning of the Mets' 9-5 win at Dodger Stadium. The round-tripper, which was his 362nd overall, moved the Mets slugger past Yankees Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio on the all-time list. Piazza reached the milestone against his former team and the one that had drafted him in the 62nd round in 1988. He finished his career with 427 homers. The homer broke a 3-3 tie.
