The Giants limited the Dallas Cowboys to 156 total yards and nine first downs in a 28-7 victory at Texas Stadium. Phil Simms ran for one touchdown and threw for one, completing 16 of 21 passes for 208 yards. Lawrence Taylor had a sack and returned his ninth and final career interception for his second and final career touchdown in the fourth quarter. The Giants improved to 2-0 in a season they started 10-0 and ended with a 20-19 win over the Buffalo Bills in the Super Bowl.
