Kingman: 3 homers, Mets' RBI mark

Dave Kingman hit three home runs (all on the first pitch) and racked up a team-record eight RBIs as the Mets beat the Dodgers, 11-0, in Los Angeles. Kingman (3-for-5) homered in the fourth and fifth innings off starter Burt Hooton and got the third off Al Downing in the seventh for his 20th long ball of the season. Tom Seaver pitched a three-hitter with one walk and eight strikeouts.
