This will be OG Anunoby's second but also first NBA Finals

While it’s the first trip to the NBA Finals for the majority of the Knicks’ roster, it isn’t for OG Anunoby.

Kind of.

Anunoby earned a ring in 2019 with the Raptors, who in the NBA Finals defeated Golden State – which had Mike Brown as an assistant coach – in six games.

Anunoby was a key member of that squad, averaging 10.6 points and 5.3 rebounds in 29.9 minutes in 69 regular-season games. But an emergency appendectomy on April 11 caused him to miss most of the playoff run. He ultimately was cleared for the NBA Finals but did not play with the team in a groove.

“It was still a cool experience,” he said after Friday’s practice. “We were a very close team, and it was a very talented team. I learned a lot from watching. I had a lot of great teammates, and it was really a cool experience.”
