Thompson, Smith pace SJB

Kamala Thompson scored 19 points and had nine rebounds, and Alexis Smith had 15 points, four assists and six rebounds to lead St. John the Baptist (5-1) to a 60-48 girls basketball win over McKee Staten Island at the Winter Ball 2010 tournament at Francis Lewis Sunday. Anastasia Williams had eight points and a team-high 11 rebounds in the victory.

Long Island Lutheran 67, Bishop Kearney 47: Yuni Sher had 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Paige Kriftcher had 15 points and four assists to lead Long Island Lutheran (4-1) in another game at the Winter Ball 2010 tournament. Sam Retas led all scorers with 21 points for Bishop Kearney in the loss.
