Three teenagers have been charged with felony robbery after police said they hit two victims in the head and ripped off their necklaces in Uniondale this week.

The three young men - Jose Escobar, 19, of Hempstead, along with Kibwe Alexander and Angel Hernandez, both 16 and of Uniondale - allegedly targeted victims while riding around Uniondale in a 1998 Pontiac, Nassau police said.

In the first robbery, on Friday around 7:25 p.m, the youths jumped out of the vehicle on Chester Street and hit a 21-year-old man on the head with a baseball bat, authorities said. After taking two of the man's chains, the accused drove away, cops said.

Then on Saturday around 3:45 p.m., at Greengrove Avenue and Cedar Street, they set upon a 46-year-old man, punching him in the face and hitting him in the back of a head with a tree branch, and stealing his necklace, officials said. This time, while the three fled, the victim looked at the vehicle's license plate number and contacted the authorities, police said.

Escobar, of Kennedy Avenue, Alexander, of Greengrove Avenue, and Hernandez of Clark Place, are to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead. They each face six counts of felony robbery and two counts of misdemeanor weapons possession, according to Nassau police.
