Tigers rally from 7 down to win
Miguel Cabrera hit a walk-off solo homer in the ninth inning, capping a stirring Tigers rally and lifting host Detroit to a 9-8 win over the Chicago White Sox in a game delayed 36 minutes in the eighth by rain Saturday. The Tigers trailed 8-1 in the fifth and 8-6 heading into the ninth, but Ryan Raburn tied it with a two-run shot off Sergio Santos, and Cabrera won it one out later.
For the first time this season, the Tigers erased a ninth-inning deficit at home. For the third time in the past five games, they won when trailing in the eighth inning or later.
"That means a lot," Cabrera said. "We battle. We fight. We never give up."
