Jump back about 46 years.

In 1964, did you know any of the songs popular in 1918? Chances are you weren't humming "We're All Going Calling on the Kaiser" as you unwrapped your copy of the "Meet the Beatles" album. But today's young people not only know the songs you grew up with, they lovingly embrace them.

The Beatles' last public performance was 41 years ago this month, but live versions of their music can be heard next Saturday at 7:30 p.m., when the Dix Hills Performing Arts Center presents "Long Island Sings - The Beatles." Many of the songs will be performed by high-school and college-age singers and bands from Long Island. The show is sponsored by the John Lennon Center for Music and Technology at Five Towns College in Dix Hills.

Tickets are $15. Call 631-656-2148 or go to dhpac.org.
