Tippmann talks Reich, may make you feel old
Joe Tippmann provided a sharp reminder of just how quickly time flies.
Asked on Thursday about new offensive coordinator Frank Reich, who has been a player and coach in pro football for over three decades now, the Jets starting guard insisted that such a long resume does not get him stuck in the past.
“He’s a guy, he is always adapting,” Tippmann said. “He is not just watching film from the 2000s. He is up to date and doing studies on recent years, too, and where the league is trending.”
That’s right. The 2000s — once a shorthand for futuristic advancements and development — are now considered to be the olden times.
To be fair, Tippmann wasn’t born until 2001 himself. Only 32 of the 90 current Jets players on the roster were born prior to the turn of the century.
