Over the weekend, TNA star Kurt Angle was arrested and charged for being in control of a motor vehicle while intoxicated, according to TMZ. North Dakota police found Angle sitting in his car but because he was not driving when cops found him, it’s not a DUI charge.

Reports indicate that Angle told cops he hit an icy patch in the road. The TNA star failed a field sobriety test and was arrested after the incident which occurred Friday morning.

Angle tweeted shortly after his arrest made headlines:

Thank U to my supporters. I was not drunk. I was in ice storm and my car slid into 3 ft of snow median. I called police 4 help. My job is to stay clean and never put myself in jeopardy. TMZ blew it out of proportion.

In September 2007, Angle was arrested and charged with a DUI. Angle was cleared of all charges in 2008.
