Nassau boys lacrosse top performers for the period April 9-15:

After Chaminade’s win against Manhasset last week, coach Jack Moran said, “People sitting in the stands look for stats, but our kids know they get to play on offense because we’re really good on the other end.”

Senior Tim Muller is a big reason why. He held Manhasset’s top scorer, Mike Fahey, scoreless in the 10-3 road victory.

“It’s pretty hard, but we go against great competition every day in practice so I’m definitely prepared,” said Muller, who had also held West Islip’s Nick Aponte off the scoreboard earlier this season.

Cain had two goals and an assist in an 8-6 home win over Bellevue (Wash.) last Wednesday. It was a good game for the attack, but he outdid himself three days later by scoring five goals, including the winner in overtime of a come-from-behind 10-9 win over Bellmore JFK. Wantagh trailed 9-5 with four minutes to go.

Cain said he believes he can make an impact in Wednesday’s game against Garden City.
“I don’t think we’re at the highest point,” said Cain of his team’s 7-1 start. “We always look to hopefully beat them and hopefully we can do it this year.”

Robert Campbell scored 13 goals and had an assist in GNN's 23-9 win over Lawrence. The 13 goals for Campbell is a program record, according to head coach Wally Cook.

Scanlon had three goals and 12 assists in the same Conference II win over Lawrence, which also set a program record, according to Cook.

Berge scored five goals Thursday to lead Massapequa in a 9-5 Conference A win over Farmingdale.
