Toula DeLeon scores in shootout to put East Meadow in Class AA semifinal

Toula DeLeon scored the winning penalty kick as No. 4 East Meadow beat No. 12 Baldwin, 2-1, outscoring the Bruins in a penalty kick shootout, 3-2, in a Nassau girls soccer Class AA quarterfinal Tuesday. DeLeon had scored early to give East Meadow (5-4-7) a 1-0 lead at halftime, but Caitlin Airey scored for Baldwin (12-2) in the second half to force overtime. East Meadow goalkeeper Jenna Borresen had 12 saves. East Meadow will face Massapequa in a semifinal at 4 p.m. Friday.

Massapequa 4, Hicksville 0: Skylar Vitiello scored two goals to lead No. 1 Massapequa (13-1-1) over No. 8 Hicksville (11-3-3) in a Nassau Class AA quarterfinal. Katie Hatziyianis recorded her 10th shutout of the season.Harborfields 3, Miller Place 2: Emily Hahm scored the winning goal off a rebound 30 seconds into the second overtime to lift No. 3 Harborfields (11-4) over No. 6 Miller Place (8-6-1) in a Suffolk Class A first-round playoff game. Harborfields will face No. 2 Islip in a semifinal at 2 p.m. Friday.

Babylon 1, Port Jefferson 0: Shelby Fredericks scored off an assist from Emily Guerra with 15 minutes left in the second half to lead No. 3 Babylon (13-3-1) over No. 2 Port Jefferson (13-4) in a Suffolk Class B semifinal. Babylon will face Center Moriches in the final at 7:45 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph's (L.I.).Center Moriches 2, Mattituck 0: Claire Brady and Casey Luongo each scored goals in the second half to lead No. 1 Center Moriches (9-4) over No. 4 Mattituck in a Suffolk Class B semifinal.

Shoreham-Wading River 1, Bayport-Blue Point 0: Kerri Clark scored the game's only goal off an assist from Megan Kelly with 34:34 left to lead No. 5 Shoreham-Wading River (10-3) over No. 4 Bayport-Blue Point in a Suffolk Class A first-round game. Shoreham-Wading River will play Sayville in a semifinal at 2 p.m. Friday. Kelly Wynkoop had 10 saves.

FIELD HOCKEYBay Shore 1, West Islip 0: Kyra Harney scored the winner with 6:32 left as No. 4 Bay Shore edged No. 5 West Islip in a Suffolk Class A quarterfinal. Haleigh Rock broke up a three-on-one West Islip break and sent the ball 50 yards upfield to Harney, who cashed in. The Marauders (13-4) will face Sachem East in a semifinal at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Sachem East 7, Connetquot 1: Katie Trombetta had two goals and an assist to lead No. 1 Sachem East (15-0) over No. 9 Connetquot in a Class A quarterfinal. Katie Doherty added a goal and two assists.

Smithtown East 3, Northport 1: Jenna Marx scored twice to lead No. 2 Smithtown East (14-3) over No. 7 Northport in a Suffolk Class A quarterfinal. Smithtown East will face the winner of No. 3 Ward Melville-No. 6 East Islip in a semifinal at 2 p.m. Thursday.
