Town, animal groups to set emergency plan
The Town of Southampton is working with local animal organizations to set up an emergency preparedness plan for the care of family pets when storms force residents to seek refuge in local shelters.
Working with the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation, the SPCA and the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, the town’s animal shelter is asking for donations of new or gently used collapsible wire crates, airline-type crates, and stainless steel food and water bowls for family pets of all sizes.
Donations can be brought to the Southampton Animal Shelter at 102 Old Riverhead Rd., Hampton Bays, or call the shelter at 631-728-7387.
