Town, chamber offers gardening classes

Babylon Town and the Copiague Chamber of Commerce are once again offering organic gardening classes.
The free classes will be held in Copiague on Monday, May 14 and May 21. The instruction is designed to help individuals start their own vegetable gardens and assist existing gardeners with tips on how to improve their crops.
The classes will cover topics such as soil preparation, crop selection, crop scheduling, crop rotation, plant spacing, inter-planting, companion planting, growing from seeds, growing from starter plants, growing in pots and succession planting.
The classes will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall of Christ Covenant Church, 67 Scudder Ave.
