This morning, I’m paying a visit to Skidmore’s Sports & Styles, the sporting goods store right on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays.

Owner George Skidmore comes from a long line of family members born and reared in Hampton Bays, and we’ll chat about how the community has changed, how it’s stayed the same, and what made him choose to stay here.

After that, I’m headed back to the Hampton Bays Historical Society to work on a video of the history of Hampton Bays, which we’ll post by the end of the week.

You’ll also find a story on the history of the hamlet posted Wednesday.

More than one person has already suggested I watch the sunset at the Ponquogue Bridge, so I just might have to check that out today.

Have someone you want me to meet, a place you want me to visit? Let me know! You can reach me via email, Twitter and in the comments below. You can also follow my day via Storify below.
