Islip launched its Twitter account April 8, said spokesman Parker Ince. "We've already had people tell us, 'Oh, I saw this town event on Twitter,'" Ince said. "We're getting more people to follow us every day." A recent post includes a link to a video on the town's shellfish hatchery and bay restoration.
