Tracy OK with lack of attention
Tyrone Tracy knows most Giants fans and football fans are in love with Cam Skattebo — even though Tracy was the more productive running back last season.
It doesn't bother him. Tracy might be overlooked despite having two seasons with over 1,000 scrimmage yards to start his career. He's focused on the bigger picture.
"I know for a fact that I could just chill and relax and allow God to work in my life," Tracy told reporters Monday. "So, when you say [Skattebo] gets all the attention, I really don't care about that, to be honest. I'm about football. About what I do on the field, how I carry myself on the field and off the field as well."
Skattebo and Tracy have taken their share of first-team reps so far in camp. With John Harbaugh's run-heavy offense, both will get a strong amount of carries along with Jaxson Dart running the ball.
But Tracy said there's no issues with him or Skattebo. They complement each other well, and Tracy appreciates how he and Skattebo drive each other to be better on and off the field.
"It's not necessarily like me against him, but best believe that I'm going to push him to be the best that he can be," Tracy said. "And he's going to push me to be the best that I can be each and every day. Whether it's running the ball, passing, blocking, being a good teammate."
