The Town of Hempstead will consider several proposed parking and traffic changes during the board’s regular meeting at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The proposals address designated police vehicle parking in Garden City, parking and standing prohibitions in Levittown and Oceanside, and handicapped parking on public streets in Elmont and East Atlantic Beach.

In other business, the Department of Water is asking the board to authorize mileage allowance for the use of personal vehicles on town business. The board also will consider authorizing employees of various departments to attend training and certification courses and conferences.

Anyone wishing to participate during public hearings may submit a request form to the Public Safety officers or provide written comments.

Board meetings are held in the Nathan L.H. Bennett Pavilion, adjacent to Hempstead Town Hall, One Washington St. in Hempstead. The next meeting will be held on March 8 at 10 a.m.
