Transit changes planned for climate march
The MTA is adding extra service on the E and 42nd Street shuttle for the People's Climate March in midtown on Sunday, which is expected to attract 100,000 people.
The march begins at 11:30 a.m. between 65th and 86th streets and Central Park West. It ends on 11th Avenue near 34th Street.
To prevent overcrowding at Central Park West, Penn Station and Herald Square train stations along the parade route, the MTA will mark some stairways entrance or exit only. Before the march begins, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Bronx-bound D trains will be local between Columbus Circle and 125th Street. A dozen buses in the area will be affected by reroutes and delays, the MTA said.
