Transit outlook for Super Bowl weekend
The MTA will add service and suspend Manhattan track repairs for the mass transit rush on Super Bowl Sunday.
Over the weekend, there will be six extra Long Island Rail Road trains, and on Saturday an additional 16 Metro-North trains on the New Haven Line and two on the Hudson line. On Saturday, there will be extra No. 1 trains and rush-hour level service on the Times Square shuttle for people heading to Super Bowl festivities in midtown.
On game day, New Jersey Transit, will have shuttle trains running between Penn Station to Secaucus Junction, where Super Bowl ticket holders can transfer to get to MetLife Stadium. Only people with tickets will be allowed to board. There will be extra service after the game to take football fans from Secaucus Junction to Penn Station.
