Tree lightings in Hicksville, Babylon tonight
The holiday season continues to kick into high gear with area tree lightings Friday night, including:
* The Hicksville-Jericho Rotary Club and the Hicksville Fire Department will sponsor the annual Community Tree Lighting Ceremony at Kennedy Park in Hicksville, located between Jerusalem Avenue and Broadway. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. with the Town of Oyster Bay Showmobile in place for the singers and dancers who will participate.
* The Town of Babylon will celebrate old traditions with a new tree. The annual tree lighting in front of Town Hall, 200 East Sunrise Hwy., will feature a 25-foot spruce donated by Lindenhurst residents Pat and Tony DeAngelis after the 60-foot tree in front of Town Hall that had been decorated for 30 years was lost during last March’s storms. The festivities begin at 6 p.m.
