Trinity's Rosati leaves game with minor injury

Holy Trinity starting pitcher Anthony Rosati left Wednesday’s 8-2 win at St. Anthony’s after the second inning because of a blister on his right foot.

According to coach Bob Malandro, Rosati has had the blister for a little over a week, and experienced too much discomfort to continue in Wednesday’s game. Rosati allowed two runs in the two innings he pitched.

“We have to figure out why this blister is not healing.” Malandro said. “He tapes it every day, but it was bleeding through his sock today and was very sore.”

Rosati, a senior headed to pitch at St. John’s University next fall, said he was in pain after the game. MLB scouts from the Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs, Padres, Brewers, Tigers and Indians were all in attendance to watch Rosati pitch, and mostly left the game after the second inning when Rosati was taken out.

Malandro though said there’s nothing serious to be concerned about, and expects Rosati to start some time next week.

After wrapping up a three-game series with St. Anthony's Friday, Trinity will play at St. John the Baptist on April 16 and April19.
