Tweaks nix presentation
Two weeks ago, Suffolk planners canceled a presentation before the legislature's environment committee on a new county master plan's first phase, saying it needed to be "tweaked." This allowed lame-duck County Executive Steve Levy to instead trumpet the commission's work at a news conference Wednesday, without lawmakers. Levy denied any connection. "We were making changes up until this morning," he said. Asked what they were, Levy said they involved "housing" but added, "I'm not going to elaborate any further than that."-- Rick Brand
