Residents from Seaford and Wantagh are encouraged to attend the meeting at Seaford High School’s cafeteria, 1575 Seaman’s Neck Rd. in Seaford, from 7 to 9 p.m.

The New York Rising Community Reconstruction Program is one of several storm recovery initiatives and was established to provide additional rebuilding and revitalization assistance to communities severely damaged by superstorm Sandy, Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.

The governor’s Office of Storm Recovery’s mission is to coordinate and implement the state’s programs for Sandy, Irene and Lee, including housing, small business, transportation, coastal and inland infrastructure, and local community planning programs.

The forum will be held at Baldwin Senior High School’s Cafeteria A, at 841 Ethel T. Kloberg Dr., at 8 p.m. The forum, moderated by the League of Women Voters, will begin after a civic association general membership meeting at 7 p.m.

Questions will be taken before the forum begins, so early arrival is suggested, organizers said.

Invited candidates include: Debbie Pugliese and Laura Curran, who are running for the 5th District; and Laurette Gregory and Kevan Abrahams, who are running for the 1st District.

The Baldwin Oaks area of Baldwin is in the 1st District. The rest of Baldwin is covered by the 5th District, organizers said.
