Who says there are no jobs on Long Island?

The Long Island Association is looking for two people.

One job calls for "demonstrated ability to collaborate and build consensus, technology-based economic development experience at the regional level, and knowledge and experience working with research organizations."

The other is the assistant. A bachelor's degree is required for both, and a graduate degree is "preferred."

Does that sound like you? If so, you could be executive director, or assistant to the executive director, of the LIA's new Accelerate Long Island program, an initiative that links the region's research labs and universities in an attempt to take technologies developed at the institutions and turn them into businesses.

LIA spokesman Matt Cohen said more than a dozen resumes have already been received. The search is expected to take "at least a few months," Cohen said. He added the salary is "competitive."

Please send applications to klaw@longislandassociation.org.
