Less snow for NYC, parts of NJ, 8 inches or more for most of LI
New York City and much of northeastern New Jersey will see significantly reduced snowfall totals because of a glaze of ice accumulating west of Long Island, according to an updated advisory from the National Weather Service.
The city, which was originally expected to get 5-9 inches during the overnight storm, is now expected to receive two to five inches, with higher amounts in Queens near the Long Island border.
Long Island’s projected snow totals in Nassau and western Suffolk were only slightly reduced but remain near or above 8 inches in most areas.
