A Shoreham-Wading River High School student was arrested Tuesday for allegedly vandalizing the school’s auditorium over the weekend, Suffolk police said.

The student was arrested about noon and charged with second-degree criminal mischief, a felony, for causing more than $1,500 in damages to the school’s auditorium by pouring green latex paint on 40 chairs, the carpet and the stage, police said.

The 16-year-old student was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Central Islip, according to court records.
