Updated Long Island championship schedule for baseball, softball

Monday's rainy weather forced the postponement and relocation of several state tournament games.

The Long Island Class B baseball championship, also a regional semifinal, between Southampton and Wheatley was moved from Monday to Tuesday and will be played at Baseball Heaven in Yaphank. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

The winner of the Class B LIC will meet the Section 1 vs. 9 winner on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in a regional final at either Dowling Sports Complex (if Southampton wins) or a location to be determined if Wheatley wins.

The Long Island Class C baseball title game (also a regional semifinal in the state tournament) between Friends Academy and Pierson/Bridgehampton has been pushed back to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Farmingdale State.

The Class C regional final will be played on a date to be determined, presumably Wednesday or Thursday, at Dutchess County Stadium.

In softball, the Class AA championship between Longwood and East Meadow on Tuesday was moved from St. Joseph's College to Dowling Sports Complex with a new start time of 4:30 p.m. The game will be live-streamed on MSGVarsity.com. The Class A game remains at St. Joseph's College at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Also, the Class B Long Island Championship game scheduled for Monday was postponed to Tuesday. Babylon will take on East Rockaway at St. Joseph's College at 5:30 p.m.
