The Bears are parting ways with linebacker Brian Urlacher after 13 seasons. General manager Phil Emery said yesterday that the team couldn't reach a contract agreement with Urlacher, a free agent after many seasons as the heart and face of the franchise.

Urlacher started 180 games from 2000-12, making a team-record 1,779 tackles.
