The Village of Valley Stream will be undertaking a major construction project to replace the culvert on a one-block stretch of West Valley Stream Boulevard.

The project to remove and replace the culvert, which channels water under the road, will begin April 6. Village officials said it could take up to six months to complete the project.

During the construction project, West Valley Stream Boulevard will be closed between Payan Avenue and Hicks Street. Vehicular traffic from nearby streets, including Verona Place, Ballard Avenue and Payan Avenue, will be restricted to driving only westbound on West Valley Stream Boulevard. Pedestrians will be re-routed through the Village Green.
