Valley Stream Union Free School District 13 school board has named Adrienne Robb-Fund as the next superintendent. Her appointment, effective July 1 at a salary of $195,000, was made official at the board’s Wednesday meeting.

For the past six years, Robb-Fund has been assistant superintendent for elementary education in the Commack district. She will replace Distict 13 Superintendent Elizabeth Lison, who is retiring. The district is an elementary system with four schools for kindergarten through sixth grade.

Robb-Fund, who lives in Massapequa, received a bachelor’s degree in special education from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree in reading from Boston University, where she also earned a doctorate in the study of reading and language. She began her teaching career as a special education teacher in Massachusetts, then served as an assistant principal and director of the kindergarten program in the William Floyd school district in Mastic Beach.

She also worked in the Wantagh district for 21 years, where she was director of reading and an elementary assistant principal.
