Cinema Arts Centre co-founder and co-director Vic Skolnick died Thursday at his home in Centerport. He was 81.

“Vic, a film scholar and much-beloved member of both the Long Island and global film communities, leaves behind a rich legacy of love and inspiration that will continue to be felt for future generations,” a CAC spokeswoman said in a note to supporters.

Skolnick is survived by his partner of nearly 60 years, Charlotte Sky, and their son, Dylan Skolnick.
