Michael Vick shook off all the hard hits, continued to get up off the ground and kept making plays.
Vick threw for 302 yards and accounted for three touchdowns, rallying the Philadelphia Eagles to a 34-24 victory over the visiting Houston Texans last night.
Philadelphia (8-4) is a half-game ahead of the Giants in the NFC East.
Vick was hurried, harassed and battered throughout, but he never stayed down despite taking a bunch of jarring hits, and scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 2-yard run.
It was the first time Vick led the Eagles back from a fourth-quarter deficit. They led 14-3 in the first half before falling behind 24-20.
Matt Schaub had 337 yards passing and two scores for the Texans (5-7). Andre Johnson had 149 yards receiving - four days after his fight with Tennessee's Cortland Finnegan.
The NFC East-leading Eagles were coming off their first loss in a game that Vick started and finished. He was 5-0 before a 31-26 loss at Chicago. Vick completed 22 of 33 passes for two touchdowns, and had his third 300-yard game. He also ran for 48 yards and a score.
Ben's foot 'not broken'
The Pittsburgh Steelers say quarterback Ben Roethlisberger does not have a broken right foot but instead is healing from an aggravation of a previous injury where scar tissue is present. The Steelers issued a statement last night refuting a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette report that Roethlisberger broke a metatarsal bone in his foot . . . Vikings running back Adrian Peterson says his sprained right ankle is feeling better, and he hopes to play Sunday against Buffalo. Peterson did not practice again yesterday, but the plan is for him to participate today and test the ankle. Peterson has not missed a game since his rookie year in 2007, when a torn lateral collateral ligament in his right knee kept him out for two weeks.
