Video: Bart Scott's foray into wrestling
Jets’ linebacker Bart Scott will make his wrestling debut this Thursday night on TNA’s “iMPACT” at 9 p.m.
We all know Scott can easily cut a promo in the ring. We saw good evidence of that in his post-game interview after beating the Patriots in the playoffs. Scott ranted that the Patriots’ defense “couldn’t stop a nose bleed.” He’s no Rock on the microphone but from looking at the highlights he knows the art of “backstage brawling” in wrestling.
Scott mixed it up with Frankie Kazarian and then confronted Kurt Angle in the ring. FYI, Angle is a native of Pittsburgh and a huge Steelers fans. The same Steelers that beat the Jets in the AFC Championship two months ago.
Scott was seen limping in the highlights. Sorry Bart, there’s no automatic injury timeout in wrestling. A lot has been made of Scott possibly violating his contract by stepping into the ring and engaging in fighting - make that scripted fighting. Roderick Boone had a chance to talk to Scott and wrestling legend Hulk Hogan on Wednesday. Here is the story that is in Thursday's paper.
Come back to The Steel Cage on Thursday after Scott appears on TNA for a full recap.
