Village clerk heads to Floral Park
The Village of New Hyde Park is seeking a replacement for Patrick Farrell, its clerk of eight years who left his post last week after announcing his resignation in January.
Farrell is now clerk in nearby Floral Park, filling the shoes of Virginia Appel, who is retiring. Farrell started his business career 25 years ago at Merrill Lynch and then moved on to UBS-PaineWebber, where he was a financial planner responsible for $40 million in client assets, according to a news release.
Farrell began his new position in Floral Park on Monday. Appel has agreed to stay on with the village until March 31 to ensure a smooth transition during the election season.
