Calling all volunteers.
The year-round “Keep Huntington Beautiful” campaign continues tomorrow Saturday at Crab Meadow Beach in Northport. Volunteers are needed to plant flowers from 10 a.m. to noon.
“It’s a great way to give your time back to the town,” said town board member Susan Berland, sponsor of the event.
Volunteers also are needed to plant flowers May 18 at Gold Star Battalion Beach from 10 a.m. to noon.
Still to come is Clean Beaches Day on June 1, from 9 a.m. to noon, a joint effort with the Village of Northport. Volunteers will be needed to clean and beautify six Huntington beaches: Crab Meadow, Gold Star Battalion, Centerport, Scudder, Asharoken/Steers and Hobart. Northport village beaches also will be included, Berland said.
There will be a bus for volunteers working at Hobart, Asharoken/Steers and Scudder beaches.
To volunteer, call Berland’s office at 631-351-3018.
