Wantagh State Parkway’s northbound ramp to close overnight

The northbound Wantagh State Parkway ramp to the Northern State Parkway eastbound will be closed Monday night between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. in the Town of North Hempstead, state Department of Transportation officials said.

The closures will allow for repairs to “deteriorated sections of the pavement,” on a roadway traversed daily by 70,000 motorists.

Drivers unable to use an alternate route will be detoured via Post Avenue back to the Northern State Parkway, officials said.

Emergency service providers and the Town of North Hempstead already have been warned of the change, which will occur only if weather allows.
