Road repairs will close lanes of the Wantagh State Parkway in the Town of North Hempstead during off-peak hours for about the next 10 days, the state Department of Transportation said.

The daily lane closures began Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and again between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., the agency said.

Lanes will be closed northbound and southbound, along with some ramps, between Old Country Road and the Northern State Parkway, according to a news release.

The closures are needed to repair deteriorated sections of pavement to help maintain the safety of the 70,000 motorists who use this roadway on average each day, the release said.

“These closures are weather dependent and may be canceled, postponed or prolonged due to inclement weather,” the agency said.

Motorists can call 511 or visit 511NY.org or informny.com for more information.
