Nassau police and its Crime Stoppers department are looking for John McDonnell for questioning in an attempted burglary.

Police say that around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, McDonnell tried to use a fraudulent receipt to return items he didn't purchase at The Home Depot at 2000 Hempstead Tpke. in East Meadow.

When he was approached by a store loss-prevention officer, police say McDonnell ran out of the store.

Anyone with information may call Crime Stoppers at its toll-free and confidential hotline: 800-244-TIPS (8477). Crime Stoppers offers up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.
