Warming centers open on Long Island

Nassau County offers a WARMBED program to the homeless through March 31. Call 866-WARMBED. The program operates on evenings and weekends.

Town of Hempstead

Since Wednesday, the Town of Hempstead has opened the following warming centers, open until 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
The locations include Baldwin Senior Center at 1810 North Grand Ave.; Bellmore Senior Center at 2000 Bellmore Ave.; Cedarhurst Seniors in the Park at Village Hall at 200 Cedarhurst Ave.; East Meadow Senior Center at 1485 Front St.; Elmont Senior Center at 138 Elmont Rd.; Franklin Square Senior Center at 1182 Martha Pl.; Green Acres Senior Center at 400 Flower Rd. in Valley Stream; Hempstead Senior Center at 260 Clinton St.; Levittown Senior Center at 555 Newbridge Rd.; Merrick Golf Course Clubhouse at 2550 Clubhouse Rd.; Rosa Parks Senior Center at 2 Babylon Tpke. in Roosevelt; Salisbury Senior Center at 460 Salisbury Park Dr. in Westbury; Uniondale-Hempstead Senior Center at 840 Uniondale Ave. in Uniondale; Uniondale-Merrick Senior Center at 750 Jerusalem Ave., in Uniondale; and Wantagh Senior Center at 1150 Seamans Neck Rd.

Town of Oyster Bay

The Town of Oyster Bay has warming stations open until 5 p.m., at the Hicksville Community Center, 28 W. Carl St.; the Oyster Bay Community Center on Church Street; Marjorie R. Post Community Center at 451 Unquia Rd. in Massapequa.

Town of Brookhaven

The Town of Brookhaven has opened three warming centers. The following locations will be open through Sunday. Open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., the warming centers include the Henrietta Acampora Recreation Center at 39 Montauk Hwy in Blue Point, St. Michaels Recreation Center at 100 Wilson Ave. in Gordon Heights and the New Village Recreation Center at 20 Wireless Rd. in Centereach. Town of Riverhead

The Town of Riverhead has opened a warming center at the town’s Senior Center at 60 Shade Tree Ln. in Aquebogue, open until 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Town of Southampton

Warming Centers in the Town of Southampton will be available to town residents through 4 p.m. Friday at Flanders Community Center at 655 Flanders Rd. in Flanders, Hampton Bays Senior Center at 25 Ponquogue Ave. in Hampton Bays, and Bridgehampton Community Center at 585 Sag Harbor Tpke. in Bridgehampton.
