Knicks fans heading into New York City for Game 5 watch parties should be prepared for travel chaos.
Penn Station is at the center of a huge day of events throughout Saturday. Soccer fans are making their way to New Jersey for the first World Cup match at MetLife Stadium between Brazil and Morocco with a scheduled start time of 6 p.m. Meanwhile, Knicks fans will be converging on the city for evening watch parties for Game 5 of the NBA Finals Game 5 between the Knicks and San Antonio Spurs. The game will start around 8:30 p.m.
The Knicks are hosting watch parties at Radio City Music Hall, Plaza33 outside Madison Square Garden, and Wollman Rink in Central Park.
Those events, combined with a 5 Seconds to Summer concert scheduled at the Garden on Saturday night and a repeat of the NYPD’s "frozen zone" surrounding the arena, is set to make travel burdensome.
