DENVER -- Klay Thompson scored 21 points last night as the Warriors (15-0) tied the best start in NBA history, beating the Nuggets, 118-105.

The Warriors, who next face the Lakers, matched the start of the 1948-49 Washington Capitols and the 1993-94 Houston Rockets. They surpassed the 1957-58 Boston Celtics for the best start by a defending champ. "They're the best team in the world,'' the Nuggets' Nikola Jokic said.

Michael Malone equated his Nuggets with the "Washington Generals" (the Harlem Globetrotters' usual opponent) because the TV audience wants to see the Warriors and "nobody is here to see us. We're OK with that. We're playing against a great team." -- AP
