A second Long Island man was killed by a falling tree Monday, as Sandy's hurricane-like winds ravaged the area.

John Miller, 39, of 7 Oak Hill Rd., in Lloyd Harbor was killed in his driveway at about 7:25 p.m., Suffolk County police said.

A police spokeswoman said Miller, his wife and their two daughters, ages 3 and 5, were leaving their home because of the storm when the tree fell.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neither Miller's wife nor his two daughters, both in the family car, was injured, police said.

A Roslyn man was killed Monday at 7:30 p.m. on Engineers Road by a falling tree, Nassau County police said.

Safar Shafinoori, 84, went outside to move his car when he was struck by a tree, police said.

He was pronounced dead a short time later at a nearby hospital, police said.

Earlier on Monday, a Flushing, Queens, man was killed when hit by a falling tree, officials said.
