Brace for continued showers Sunday and for some of this week before warmer temperatures set in, according to the National Weather Service.

It will also be cloudy for the rest of the Sunday, with highs in the upper 60s and lows in the mid-50s across Long Island on Sunday night, said Carlie Buccola, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service’s Upton office.

Monday will be mostly cloudy, with showers developing in the evening and highs of 67 degrees at McArthur Airport in Islip and in the mid-60s for the rest of Long Island.

Temperatures will drop to the mid-50s, with a 50 percent chance of showers on Monday night. Tuesday brings scattered showers, with highs in the low-to-mid 60s and lows in the mid-50s at night, Buccola said.

“Just get through the first half of the week, and then by Wednesday there will be smooth sailing into the weekend,” Buccola said.

Buccola said temperatures will climb to the mid-to-upper 70s on Thursday and Friday, with lows in mid-to-upper 50s at nights.
