November’s temperature ups and downs are continuing for the weekend, with forecasters calling for highs around the mid- to upper 50s Saturday on Long Island — and make that about 10 degrees cooler on Sunday.
That’s as Thanksgiving Day had registered a high of 48 degrees at Long Island MacArthur Airport, with Friday coming in at 49 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Sunny skies were in the forecast for Saturday morning, with increasing clouds and a chance of showers later in the afternoon and for the nighttime hours, the weather service said.
“Clouds will be on the increase from mid-morning onward, with mostly cloudy skies expected by late afternoon,” the weather service said in its regional summary.
Looking at highs in the mid- to upper 40s, Sunday is expected to bring mostly sunny skies and winds from the northwest that could gust up to around 28 mph.
