Mostly sunny with temps in upper 70s forecast for Long Island on Wednesday
Mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 70s are expected Wednesday for Long Island, the National Weather Service said.
The service's Upton office called for a return to mostly summerlike conditions after the workweek opened with a stretch of cloudy skies and scattered showers.
In addition to primarily sun-kissed skies, north winds from 9 to 11 mph shift to the southeast by the afternoon, the service said.
News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said Wednesday will be a mix of sun and clouds, with mostly cloudy skies taking over by nightfall.
Overnight lows will be in the mid 50s, Hoffman said, and give way to a Thursday of partly cloudy skies with daily highs again in the mid 70s.
There's also a slight chance Thursday for "a few showers," Hoffman said.
