Coastal-flood statement issued for Nassau
Minor coastal flooding is possible early Wednesday for the South Shore of Nassau County and waters west, including parts of Queens, the National Weather Service said.
Higher than average astronomical tides could cause minor coastal flooding from 7 to 10 a.m., the Upton-based service said in a special weather statement.
Low-lying coastline and the South Shore bays of Nassau County, Queens and Brooklyn are especially susceptible, the service said.
Tidal departures are expected to be a half-foot to a foot above astronomical tides.
