Cool start to seasonal autumn week

Cooler temperatures and a possible return of rain are expected this week across Long Island and New York City, forecasters said Sunday.
Temperatures on Sunday morning dipped into the mid 40s across most of Long Island, with the afternoon high only expected to reach 60, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures Tuesday are expected to top 70 degrees. But crisp autumn air will dominate the rest of the week, with most highs predicted to be in the low to mid 60s throughout the week.
A chance of rain is forecast Monday night and through Tuesday morning.
Low temperatures this week are expected to be in the mid 50s.
