Cool week ahead for LI after brisk night
Expect cooler than normal temperatures across most of Long Island until Wednesday.
Sunday morning started with sunny skies that helped pull temperatures out of the 30s overnight in some spots after cold Canadian air flowed into the area Saturday night.
Joe Pollina, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Upton, said temperatures will stay at or below the mid-50s until midweek, thanks to the Canadian cold front.
By Wednesday, Pollina said, temperatures should warm to near normal with a high of 62. Temperatures should stay at or just below normal Thursday and Friday, he said.
Monday night will bring a 30 percent chance of rain, he said.
